Trauma Program Support & Resources
Following a trauma, hospitalization and the road to recovery can be filled with uncertainty, anxiety and frustration. The main goal of our Trauma Patient Support Program is to help you connect with others and rebuild your life following injury. UofL Hospital and the American Trauma Society provide the programs and recovery resources that patients, families, and communities need to manage healing and improve their lives. This partnership is committed to supporting patient wellness by providing important resources, fostering new relationships, and promoting resiliency.

The TSN is a community of patients and families like you who are looking to connect with one another and rebuild their lives after a traumatic injury. Trauma Patient Recovery Assessment
The recovery assessment is designed for patients who are recovering from a traumatic injury. The questions are meant to help understand your strengths and resources, as well as to help you identify potential problems or challenges you may face in your recovery. NextSteps Program
NextSteps is a series of classes focusing on self-management which aims to help individuals recognize that YOU play the most important role in your recovery. Snack and Chat
Our snack and chat program is not currently being offered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay tuned for updates. Come join your Trauma Program Team for a snack & chat about your needs as the family and caregiving team of your loved one. We are here to support you and answer any questions you may have about support, recovery and the emotional impact of trauma.
Trauma Support Group is hosted by your Trauma Program Social Workers. Support group is held the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 6:00 pm Eastern to 7:00 pm. Trauma Support Group is a safe place for trauma survivors (and their loved ones) to come and connect no matter where a person is in their recovery process. Still not sure what to expect during group? The Trauma Survivors Network Support Group is a safe, supportive place for teens, young adult and adult survivors of physical injuries and their support systems. Please read our group etiquette to ensure all group members have the best possible experience.
We provide a bedside Brief Intervention for our patients who are struggling with substance abuse. Would you like to talk with someone about your substance use? We can help.
